Ear Candling Directions

Ear candling can be a simple and effective way of treating minor ear ailments. Naturally as with all natural remedies you should consult with your physician should your symptoms continue beyond a reasonable period of time.

When ear candling its important to set up your work station with all your tools at your disposal. For an efficient treatment you will need....

- 4 ear candles
- a small dish of water
- a pair of scissors
- matches or a lighter
- a toothpick or other narrow object
that can be put up the candle should
it become blocked.
-a blanket
-and a comfortable treatment table

1. The client will lay on the table in a position that is both comfortable and exposes the ear.

2. The candler will soften the tip of the candle and remove any debris or lumps that might be uncomfortable.

3. The candle is lit and placed in the ear canal in a comfortable position. The candle should be placed deep within the index and middle fingers with the palm placed flat on the clients head.

4. The candler watches for the pattern of smoke and makes sure the white smoke is going inside the ear. This is accomplished by making a good seal inside the ear.

5. While the candle is burning the candler will massage the sinuses, temple region and ear/neck region to loosen up any blockages. This is usually the time the client will require the blanket on their legs and feet. Clients often experience a chill to the extremities during a treatment, and its not unusual for clients to experience and emotional release at this time. Its important to maintain the clients comfort at all times.

6. The client should be encouraged to move his/her jaw back and forth a few times throughout the treatment.

7. While candle is burning with a good seal the candler should be aware of the circle of energy and place their free hand on the clients shoulder to close the circuit.

8. Once the wick burns and begins to curl, the candler can hold the candle over the dish of water and cut off the wick.

9. Continue to candle until the candle is approx. 3 inches long or when the candler can feel the heat on the back of his hand. At which time the flame should be dowsed in the dish of water.

10. Repeat the process on the other ear.

11. Both ears can be candled twice in one session if needed.
